24 Hours in Dusseldorf: Itinerary by ChatGPT

We decided to make this post a little more interesting and test ChatGPT skills. After living here for a year we feel we know quite well the city and what’s it got to offer, so we thought it would be fun to ask ChatGPT what 24 Hours in Dusseldorf should look like and this was the result.

Morning:

8:00 AM – Start with a Local Breakfast at Frühstücksfreunde Begin your day like a true Düsseldorf local with breakfast at Frühstücksfreunde. Try the “Düsseldorfer Senfrostbrötchen” (mustard rolls) and a cup of their excellent coffee.

9:00 AM – Explore the Beautiful Hofgarten Stroll over to the Hofgarten, Düsseldorf’s central park. As a local, I love this serene oasis. Take a leisurely walk, rent a paddleboat on the pond, and embrace the greenery.

10:00 AM – Visit Schloss Benrath Head to Schloss Benrath, a baroque palace surrounded by stunning gardens. As a local, I can assure you it’s one of Düsseldorf’s hidden gems. Explore the palace, its grounds, and the neighboring Rhineland Costume Museum.

1:00 PM – Art and History at Kunstsammlung NRW Discover the city’s artistic side at Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen. It’s a local favorite and houses an impressive collection of modern and contemporary art.

3:00 PM – Kaiserswerth Riverside Walk Take a short trip to Kaiserswerth, a historic district by the Rhine River. Enjoy a peaceful riverside walk, explore the ruins of Kaiserswerth Castle, and visit local cafes for coffee and cake.

Our Review of 24 Hours in Dusseldorf

After following ChatGPT’s guide for our 24 hours in Düsseldorf, we can say that it was fun and fulfilling day. We came home quite tired after visiting top Düsseldorf attractions. However, if you find yourself with just one day to explore this charming city, we’d suggest a slight change to this schedule. Instead of visiting Hofgarten followed by Schloss Benrath back-to-back, we recommend prioritizing a visit to the Hofgarten in the morning and then heading to the Japanese Garden afterward. This adjustment allows for a more relaxed and immersive experience at both locations.

As for lunch, while ChatGPT’s suggestion of Currywurst Express was delightful, we would recommend Heimwerk for a modern twist to German dishes. But If you’re seeking a broader culinary experience, consider checking out other local gems located in Immerstraße for authentic Japanese cuisine.

Overall, ChatGPT’s guide offered an interesting perspective on Düsseldorf’s highlights. However, for a more balanced and leisurely exploration of the city in just 24 hours, we invite you to explore our original guide here.
