There are several things to do in Gangnam but these are our top 5 things to do in Gangnam. If you are looking for places that are more related to Korean culture I would recommend to check out Royal Tombs in Gangnam for more information.
VISIT COFFEE SHOPS
AB Cafe
There are two branches of this cafe in Gangnam and the one we went to is in the alley between CGV and Gangnam e- Square. The Korean coffee shop aesthetic here is really something else.
This Seoul coffee shop aesthetic makes you feel like you are on a tropical island when in reality you are in Gangnam. No worries about seating because there are plenty of tables on all 6 floors! That’s right! It is huge!
Prices of beverages range from 5,500KRW to 9,000KRW. The desserts are also pretty good. We really recommend you to go anytime as there is plenty of seating however during weekends it does get quite busy as it is a popular coffee shop to go to.
Secret: The other day we were eating at a restaurant in front of this coffee shop and we saw one or two celebrities come out of here from a filming event. Maybe we will see this coffee shop in an upcoming Korean drama?

Alver
Right next to AB Cafe is another popular coffee shop in Gangnam. Alver Coffee and More is located up the alley in between CGV and Gangnam e- Square. This coffee shop has the atmosphere of a botanical garden and we are totally feeling it. It is a three story building with tons of seating area and a very minimalist fun decor.
It’s a Korean coffee shop design that makes you feel like you are also in the middle of a forest when in reality you are in the middle of Gangnam.
The most famous dessert at Alver Cafe in Gangnam is the tiramisu.
Instead of putting the tiramisu on a plate they put cream on the plate first and then sprinkle the tiramisu on top of it. We were there for a quick second for a to go order but next time we are there we will for sure order the Tiramisu.

SHOPPING IN GANGNAM
So what to do in Gangnam? Gangnam is known for its nightlife and shopping. There are a lot of stores everywhere you go. You can come here to buy skincare products, clothing, jewelry, makeup, and so on. You could definitely spend the whole day here and not get bored.
If you are looking to find cheap Korean clothing that’s trendy, there is no better place than the Gangnam Station underground. As soon as you exit the subway line in Gangnam Station you will find tons of shops selling really cute clothing for women. There will also be some skincare companies selling their products so it’s a really good place to shop.
STATIONERY STORES IN GANGNAM
A fun stationery store that is well known all over Korea is artbox. Artbox has a lot of great products from really cute folders to fun planners. This place gets super packed around November and December as it’s a great place to buy gifts for friends and get your yearly planner to start planning all your goals.
Artbox in Gangnam is super big with lots of cute places to take pictures inside. If you don’t know what to get your friends back home, this is the place to stop by.

RESTAURANTS TO EAT
Other things to do in Gangnam is of course getting some food. There are Korean restaurants, Japanese restaurants, Indian food, even Tex- Mex food.
Some of the well known places are:
Shabu Shabu
This place is incredible. It is an all you can eat restaurant with unlimited meat servings and vegetables. For those of you who don’t know what Shabu Shabu is, it’s kinda like a hotpot, or a soup where you dip your vegetables and meat into it. This place also allows you to make your own spring rolls.

Brick Oven
In front of Ab Cafe, we recommend this really good pizza place. If you are missing western style pizza from back home this is the place to go to. They literally use a brick oven to make it and the taste is so delicious. If you are a lemonade person I highly recommend their lemonade.

BOOKSTORE
If you are a book person like us, don’t forget to check out Kyobo Bookstore in Sinnonhyeon Station exit 7 which is right next to Gangnam Station. Here you can find all sorts of books in Korean and English. Their English section is quite large and recently we found a new French section which means they are constantly expanding their book selection. This bookstore usually gives you a discount if you buy books in English.
There are also lots of books for learning Korean. From textbooks used at Universities to textbooks used in the KIIP Program (Program that teaches you Korean and Korean culture) you will end up getting excited with the variety of selection.
